I have recently been getting into this band over the last three to four months and i can easily say they keep going up in my estimation.
They are very, as described by a friend as 'happy summer punk pop music' quite nicely. The have a fair amount of hits including 'Honestly' and 'Say Anything' and 'Lose It' which are all worth a good listen too.
They sound fairly similar to 'Boys Like Girls.' In fact I see them play together last year at Astoria in Tottenham Court Road up London when they supported Plain White T's. Actually, looking back, they should of probably been the main event as the T's were not great.
Anyway, back to Cartel, they are not that new of a band, as they have had two albums. The first of which was Chroma in 2005 and the then last year self titled. I remember reading the reviews for the last albums especially in N.M.E who gave it 9/10 which is a pretty big feat for a more indie rock magazine.
